Currency
In Cambodia, both the Cambodian Riel (KHR) and the US Dollar (USD) are used. This means that you can pay in riel and get change in dollars, or vice versa. The standard exchange rate used in everyday life is 1 USD = 4,000 KHR.
To travel to Cambodia, you can take a bus or a flight. If you choose to fly, the airports in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh are the best options. If you prefer to travel by bus, keep in mind that there are only a limited number of border crossings available.
Within Cambodia, you can get around by tuk-tuk, bus, or taxi.

Visum
In Cambodia a visa is required, this is valid for 30 days. You can apply for the visa via the government website (https://www.evisa.gov.kh/). The costs for this are €35,- pp (2025).
Please note that not all border crossings accept an e-visa. In this case, you can apply for a visa on arrival. For this you need a valid passport and passport photo. But be careful! At the border crossing between Thailand and Cambodia, people want to sell you a visa that is not valid. Therefore, always apply for a visa in the government building.
